  • Hi Xanga. Happy New Year. New blog. Goodbye, my love.

Oh my beloved Xanga.  I think it's time to say Goodbye.  bummed  Yes it is.  There's NOTHING out there that has the great community vibe of Xanga.  I was able to easily meet new people and make friends (espeically other moms) via the Blog Rings (Groups).  Xanga wasn't able to advance, modernize... whatever you wanna call it.  They stayed old school and a lot of people just left to blog elsewhere.  Cmon' Xanga, your site is ugly... why couldn't you change your homepage and be cooler!  SHESH!  Like hire some professional web designers to create nice blog layouts so your ass wouldn't look so ghetto.  Luckily, I knew how to make layouts.  But for others, Xanga was way too ugly for new bloggers.  People went elsewhere... Blogger, Tumblr... etc.  You guys had a really good thing going on too.  So sad to say Goodbye.  Now I have to go save ALL my pics.  I will miss you dearly, and if you guys ever get a lot better.  I would love to come back.  But for 2012, I'm elsewhere.

  • Holy Cannoli! Give me an update!

It's been over a month since I blogged.  Over a month since I've been on Xanga really.  I just read my subs through email.    Anyway, so what's been going on?  Me, I'm an emotional roller coaster... why?  I'm just fuckin crazy.  Army hasn't really done anything that should make me upset.. and yet, I'm just hatin on him every few days... maybe I feel insecure, maybe I feel unattractive due to the pregnancy... maybe I just think he's a FAKE...

EDIT//  ^ Okay that was typed a week ago when I was pretty upset.  I'm more calm now.  I don't feel like venting at the moment about our marriage issues.  But when it's all said and done, Army loves me unconditionally and he would do anything to keep us together and happy.  He's there for me when I need him, and I can be very needy at times.  He even tucks me in to bed... lol.

Okay so what do I feel like blogging about now?  NICOYOUST!  So my due date is fast approaching (although not fast enough for me)!

The crib that we got was nice but I'm not like 100% happy with it.  And why?!  Because I fell in love with a $500 crib that I saw in Portsmouth.  And no, I'm not gonna buy it.    We did purchase this cheap crib bedding set from Walmart which was okay I guess... but after seeing this pirate's crib set at a local boutique... we just had to have it!  It looks much cuter and detailed in person.  I was able to find it for $121 free shipping.

    cribpirate

It should be here next week!  So crib and bedding is all set.  Now what else...?

We got the Orbit Infant System.  We went down to Boston a couple weeks ago to pick it up since it was on sale for $700.  They only had the Mocha color available which was fine, although we preferred the black one.  The awesome part was that we also received a $70 gift card from them.  We LOVE the system.  Can't wait to use it.

I love to shop for Nico, Army does too.  We already got him a bunch of outfits and some shoes. oOOo speaking about outfits, I got his home coming clothes already.  It's by L'ovedbaby.  It's this set but in gray.

I like the green one also.  Okay I pretty much want every color except for pink!

I also got a baby bag off eBay.  And I have buyer's remorse about it.    It was a spur of the moment thing and I don't like how colorful it is.  *sigh*  Cost me $130 too.  Kate Spade.

I actually should have gotten this color!  ARGGGG!

Alright Avani's been bugging me about using the computer and my back hurts!  Time to publish this...

  • Crib & Carrie

    I just ordered Nicoyoust's crib!  *^_^*  It's a great price at $209.98, original was $399.

    Sweet Pea Modern Crib

    crib

It comes with a cool looking built-in bookcase, which after a while of contemplating, I've decided it's more of a good thing than bad.  My crib budget was $250 and I wanted a dark wood with masculine lines.  Perfecto.  I am kinda taking a chance though with this crib since there are no reviews.  :o T  I can't wait to put it together with Army and set up the bedding and accessories.  I'm so excited just thinking about it!  And yes, we decided to not use the old crib... since it's old and scratched up, plus I'm not too fond of a white crib for a baby boy.  We also decided to move Avani's bed from our bedroom and have the crib there instead.  We I'm gonna go shower then browse for crib bedding on eBay.  Anway, I still listen to a lot of Country music and I shall leave you with a video from one of my fav artists of all time, Carrie Underwood!  This song and her performance of the song is so powerful and moving.  It made me cry.  :*(  This one is from the CNN Heroes Tribute.

  • Thankful!

So this year we decided to go to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC.  Everyone was really looking forward to it.  Both Army & I had to work the day before Thanksgiving, so we tried to get everything ready in advance but there was still a lot of last minute packing.  And I tend to over pack... extra of everything "just in case."  We planned on going to bed at 8pm and waking up at about 1:30am, but we ended up going to bed at almost 11pm and not waking up til 2am.  Army's mom gets off work at 3am and we planned on picking her up and head straight to NYC.  We picked her up at around 3:10am and went on our way.  By the time we got to Worchester, MA... Army was crazy sleepy so he went hunting for some coffee but the Dunkin Donuts were closed.  He finally found an opened McDonalds, and they took over 15 minutes just to complete our order.    Anyway, we did like 3 or 4 more rest area stops before we got to Times Square at 8:30am.  It was good timing, I initially thought we weren't going to get there until 10am because it was really foggy at times so Army had to drive slower.  Not to mention he was fighting sleep.  I was too sleepy to drive too... and Army's dad was knocked out in the backseat... he would've driven really slow anyway.  The parade starts at 9:00am so we tried to find parking as close to the parade route as possible... we were hoping that we didn't have to park in a garage cuz that would be like $30+.  But the streets were so packed and just when we were about to head to a garage, we found a parking spot. Yay!  And it was only a block from the parade route.  We put on some layers and winter gear, it was a beautiful 50 degrees out.. partly cloudy, NO RAIN!  I    NYC!  The people, the shops, the buildings.. it was awesome.  We found a good spot to stand on 7th Avenue.  Unfortunately, we came too late to get the best spots... we were about 4 rows behind the crowd.  BUT, Verabelle snuck up right to the front... so she had a front row view of EVERYTHING.  She loved it and was stoked to see some Disney stars.  Avani also loved every moment of it and looked at all the balloons and floats with awe.  She especially loved the Abby Cadabby balloon.  Another cute moment was when Avani was eating crackers while she was sitting on top of Army's shoulders.  Army had crumbs all over his head.. haha.  Everyone had so much fun, Army & I completely forgot how tired we were.    When the parade ended at noon, we went to have a nice "family lunch" which was pretty much our Thanksgiving meal.  It was the first time I ate Sole fish, which was "OK."  the best part of my meal was actually the string beans... which were SO GOOD that the veggie-phobic hubby ate a bunch of em'.  I must learn how to make those string beans, it was heavy on fried garlic.

After lunch, we headed to the ginormous Toys R Us as promised to the girls.  It's the largest toys store in the U.S.  It was extremely crowded that we kinda had to walk in baby steps almost shoulder-to-shoulder with other people.  It was so hectic that they wouldn't even allow anyone on the elevators unless they were handicap or had a stroller.  The Toys R Us employee who was manning the elevators was... crazed.  While we were waiting to get in the elevator, he was yelling in someone's face, "You need to take the escalators!  Would you jeopardize the safety of this child and the handicap!  You need to take the escalators!"... and it just kept getting worst... he got into an argument with some old man too.  Army & I was just looking at each other like, "OMG, will the elevator please hurry up."  We had to go downstairs to get to the Ferris Wheel.  We bought tickets but had to wait nearly 45 minutes until our time at 2:00pm.  It was well worth it.  A Ferris Wheel inside Toys R Us?!  It was too cool.  Our second time there though.  You couldn't choose which cart you got to ride on... they had like My Little Pony (which Avani wanted), Scooby Doo, Jimmy Neutron, M&M, Toys Story, Monopoly... and a bunch of other themed ones.  I didn't get to take a piture but I found one in a search.  Army had promised Verabelle ice cream if she could guess which cart we would end up with.  And she guessed right!  It was the Little Tikes car. The second from the top in the pic.  After the ride, we left the store... it was was way too crowded to do any shopping with the kids there.  We had to go home right away because Cooper was home alone and Army had to get some sleep since he had to be at work at midnight for the Black Friday shopping.  Well, that's all folks!  And this year, I'm just so thankful for everything God has blessed me with.

  • Hello Rainy Saturday

I got up at 9 this morning.  Vera was already awake watching TV in the living room.  She told me she didn't feel good and it turns out she had a fever.    I got her something to eat then she took some Motrin.  The heater in her room doesn't work, gotta contact the homeowners about that.  It's been so cold lately... makes everyone feel not too good.  Winter is fast approaching, and I dunno if we're ready for the subzero temps.   This summer house gets a little drafty downstairs.  It'll be costly to get some insulated drapes.  I'm not too comfortable having to wear double sweaters to stay semi-warm at home.  It's so nice and cozy upstairs though.  I was talking to Army about moving the entertainment center upstairs, because it's going to get even colder in the winter months.  And when it's cold, I feel lazy and gloomy.  I just wanna cuddle up under a blanket.

The cold weather makes my skin, especially my face, SO DRY!  I'm like THIS close to splurging on some La Mer moisturizing cream.  But that would be selfish of me with Christmas around the corner.

I can't wait for Army to get home at 5:30.  We need to go out and buy some essentials that I posted in my previous blog.  And I think I'll probably just get the Cetaphil moisturizing cream.  It costs $100+ less than the La Mer one. haha

My eyes are stinging so bad now.  My MIL cooked some sambal (Indonesian chili sauce).. mMMm I can't wait to eat it!

We're suppose to have a few guests from Indonesia staying over for I think 3 or 4 days.. they should be here soon.  I'd love to take a nap before they get here.

NICO!  This boy I swear is gonna be big!  Okay so we have a name picked out... actually it's been picked out for a long while now.  Army wanted to name him after his grandfathers, the name is also part of Army's middle name.  Heskiah Army Nicoyoust Pakasi.  That's my baby butt's full name hehe.

So his first name shall be Nicoyoust, pronounced : nee-co-YOUst : unique indeed, but not too hard to pronounce.

I know I need to take belly pictures.  I'm only 5 months but I feel HUGE... I seriously feel like i'm 8 months.  It feels like he's so low also, and all that pressure down there makes me waddle when I walk!  We went through a growth spurt.  Some shirts are too short for me to wear now and some pants are feelin' a lil too snug around the belly.

Alright. I'm gonna go lay down.  I made this "Nicoyoust Essentials" list earlier.  I think I covered most, if not all of it.

     - Orbit stroller system
     - Diaper bag
     - Moses basket
     - Changing mat
     - Diaper genie/champ (already have somehwere in storage)
     - Baby monitor (may be broken)
     - Onesies long sleeves
     - Onesies short sleeve
     - Wash cloths
     - Receiving blankets
     - Bibs
     - Pacifiers
     - Booties
     - Mitts
     - Hats
     - Blankets
     - Boppy
     - Advent bottles, cleaner, dryer rack
     - Toddler bed rail
     - Twin fitted sheet for boy or unisex
     - Bouncer/swing
     - Diaper, wipes, powder
     - Infant First Aid kit
     - Bath tub
     - Bath wash
     - Breast pads/sanitary pads for mommy :)

And yes, we decided to get the Orbit stroller system! *^_^*  The Stokke doesn't come with a car seat, so not very practical for the price.  And we decided that for the first 2-3 months, Nico will be sleeping in Avani's twin size bed in our bedroom. And Avani will be sleeping in Army's parent's king size bed.  Nico's bed is against the wall, but we will have to get one of those safety rails for the other side.  Avani is a light sleeper, so it's best if she doesn't sleep in the same room as the baby for a while.  And since our lease is over the end of June, we decided not to get the crib out of storage until we move.  I hope it'll work just fine.  It's not like the baby could fall off the bed if we have the rails up... and he wouldn't be able to move much yet anyway.

    Nap time.

  • Another Country Video!

Just got done eating breakfast.  And here's another Country song I love.  It really hits the heart & mind for me.  There's been trying times in our relationship... marriage.  With me being unsure about us at times and how Army would be confused about how I could possibly have any doubts since he gives me 110% of his love.  And now whenever I wanna talk about our "issues" (more like my issues)... he doesn't want to talk about it because he says it hurts.  I feel bad.  I don't wanna turn away from him or hurt him anymore.

  • I Just Call You Mine

Okay, I officially listen to too much country music!  I just wanted to dedicate this new Martina McBride song to Army because the first time I heard it, it made me think how true this song is to him. I'm amazed at how much people who knows him are so drawn to him. He's just really friendly, fun and charasmatic. He always makes other people smile and laugh. He's AMAZING, and he's all mine.

    Gonna go shopping now! BYE!
