  • Hello Rainy Saturday

I got up at 9 this morning.  Vera was already awake watching TV in the living room.  She told me she didn’t feel good and it turns out she had a fever.    I got her something to eat then she took some Motrin.  The heater in her room doesn’t work, gotta contact the homeowners about that.  It’s been so cold lately… makes everyone feel not too good.  Winter is fast approaching, and I dunno if we’re ready for the subzero temps.   This summer house gets a little drafty downstairs.  It’ll be costly to get some insulated drapes.  I’m not too comfortable having to wear double sweaters to stay semi-warm at home.  It’s so nice and cozy upstairs though.  I was talking to Army about moving the entertainment center upstairs, because it’s going to get even colder in the winter months.  And when it’s cold, I feel lazy and gloomy.  I just wanna cuddle up under a blanket.

The cold weather makes my skin, especially my face, SO DRY!  I’m like THIS close to splurging on some La Mer moisturizing cream.  But that would be selfish of me with Christmas around the corner.

I can’t wait for Army to get home at 5:30.  We need to go out and buy some essentials that I posted in my previous blog.  And I think I’ll probably just get the Cetaphil moisturizing cream.  It costs $100+ less than the La Mer one. haha

My eyes are stinging so bad now.  My MIL cooked some sambal (Indonesian chili sauce).. mMMm I can’t wait to eat it!

We’re suppose to have a few guests from Indonesia staying over for I think 3 or 4 days.. they should be here soon.  I’d love to take a nap before they get here.

NICO!  This boy I swear is gonna be big!  Okay so we have a name picked out… actually it’s been picked out for a long while now.  Army wanted to name him after his grandfathers, the name is also part of Army’s middle name.  Heskiah Army Nicoyoust Pakasi.  That’s my baby butt’s full name hehe.

So his first name shall be Nicoyoust, pronounced : nee-co-YOUst : unique indeed, but not too hard to pronounce.

I know I need to take belly pictures.  I’m only 5 months but I feel HUGE… I seriously feel like i’m 8 months.  It feels like he’s so low also, and all that pressure down there makes me waddle when I walk!  We went through a growth spurt.  Some shirts are too short for me to wear now and some pants are feelin’ a lil too snug around the belly.

Alright. I’m gonna go lay down.  I made this “Nicoyoust Essentials” list earlier.  I think I covered most, if not all of it.

     - Orbit stroller system
     - Diaper bag
     - Moses basket
     - Changing mat
     - Diaper genie/champ (already have somehwere in storage)
     - Baby monitor (may be broken)
     - Onesies long sleeves
     - Onesies short sleeve
     - Wash cloths
     - Receiving blankets
     - Bibs
     - Pacifiers
     - Booties
     - Mitts
     - Hats
     - Blankets
     - Boppy
     - Advent bottles, cleaner, dryer rack
     - Toddler bed rail
     - Twin fitted sheet for boy or unisex
     - Bouncer/swing
     - Diaper, wipes, powder
     - Infant First Aid kit
     - Bath tub
     - Bath wash
     - Breast pads/sanitary pads for mommy :)

And yes, we decided to get the Orbit stroller system! *^_^*  The Stokke doesn’t come with a car seat, so not very practical for the price.  And we decided that for the first 2-3 months, Nico will be sleeping in Avani’s twin size bed in our bedroom. And Avani will be sleeping in Army’s parent’s king size bed.  Nico’s bed is against the wall, but we will have to get one of those safety rails for the other side.  Avani is a light sleeper, so it’s best if she doesn’t sleep in the same room as the baby for a while.  And since our lease is over the end of June, we decided not to get the crib out of storage until we move.  I hope it’ll work just fine.  It’s not like the baby could fall off the bed if we have the rails up… and he wouldn’t be able to move much yet anyway.

    Nap time.

  • When’s your due date again? Man, I’m glad I don’t live where you guys live, it’s too damn cold! Looks like you’re so ready for all of this… Excited!

  • Ugh! I’m so feel for you. I HATE having to wear double layered stuff in my own house to stay warm.

Oooh how exciting! You’re halfway the pregnancy now, but it looks like ya’ll are already to have this baby now! hahaha

  • Congratulations on having a baby boy! That name is so long but nice.. Take Good Care of yourself and your baby!

  • LOVE that name!

  • @Our_New_Beginning - I’m due March 30th.  And yea, it’s pretty much below freezing all Winter long.. the snow and ice makes it dangerous to get around too.  :o T  I bought a few really cute maternity tops for work but I have to wear them under like a heavy knit cardigan cuz it’s so freakin cold.  Ppl at my work place wear coats and scarfs cuz it’s so dang cold inside.  Argg… I dread the winter months.  Especially now that I can’t go snowboarding.

  • @Novietaaa - So how’s the weather like in the Netherlands?  Do you guys get snow? lol

  • @QueenMe - The weather here is stupid, because it hardly snows. So it’s just cold, wet and dark lately..
I mean if it was snowing, there was a point to all of this coldness… Wish I could hide in a cave and come out when it’s summer again. hahaha

  • Just wanted to say I love the Thanksgiving parade picz!! Looks like so much fun!
